BQ24630

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24630

I'm building up some prototype boards using the BQ24630.  I have 1 set of board working perfectly using similiar components recommended on the datasheet, but the other 4 boards don't seem to work at all.  All signals measured are within spec., except the REGN pin.  The good one has REGN of about 6V, but the bad ones have only about 0.5V.  Any reasons why REGN is low? Thanks.

  • Check the other pins of the IC...sleep mode, CE pin,  If they are out of range, the IC may be disabled.

  • Below are my measurements on the pins.  They seem to be within spec., except for REGN and BTST. The STAT1 and STAT2 indicate that the IC is in one of these modes: Charge suspend, timer fault, overvoltage, sleep mode, and battery absent.   Is there something else I should measure?  Thanks again.
