UCD9090 input for power interrupt?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9090

Hi Team,

We need to generate an interrupt when the power goes off so that we can shut things down in an orderly fashion.  I'm wondering if we could use the one last spare input to the UCD9090 to warn of pending power failure?

Best Regards,

Shashank

  • Hi Shashank,

By loss of power do you mean the 3.3V power supply to the UCD9090? The sequencer can't be functional if it's input volatge falls below 2.9V. You can monitor this voltage and setup any subsequent fault events but if the power supply voltage decays much faster than the UCD9090's UV fault detection and response time, then you cant sequence down the rest of the system. One way to get this is to monitor the primary LDO or such which supplies the 3.3V to the part. Then you would be having some buffer time between the UV fault detection on this 5V line and the voltage on the sequencer input going below 2.9V.

    Thanks, Spandana
