LM5118 and problem in high current

Hi,

I designed a new layout in buck-boost mode Vin= 22-34V , Vout= 28V and Iout= 5A

Output voltage is true until the current is about 1A, But when the current be more than 1A output voltage reduce.

When I connect the load to the board my inductor have a sound like vizzzzz.

please help me.

  • Hi

Please provide additional information for more investigation.

    1. Target application. (What's your end application ?)

    2. Fsw

    3. Inductotor Datasheet

    4. Vin ( When the issue happens)

    5. Rsense

    Regards,

  • Hi Eric,

I want use this board for car battery charger.

the frequency of my board is 100 KHZ.

My inductor dose not have datasheet because it twice by myself.

Vin is between 22 and 34V and is constant.

Rsense are 2 resistor with 0.018 ohm that equal 0.009 ohm

    Regards,

    Saeid

  • Hi

It is hard to support without the information. You should know the characteristics of the component you are using. If you can prodide the inductor current waveform when you hear the audible noise, it might be helpful.

What's you physical location ? I might able to find local office.
