We have designed and built a 1-cell solution using the bq28550-R1 using a 1.85Ah prismatic Lithium-ion cell. I am experiencing a problem with our first prototypes. First, the default flash contents are 0 or null for every entry, except the last one under each subcategory. I have created a custom flash file for this product and programmed it into the device. When I try to calibrate the device, after each calibration attempt the programmed flash reverts back to the default flash. This is especially troublesome because all of the safety defaults are zero (0), not the values indicated in the documentation for this part. In addition. when cycled, the packs operate as if the default flash was programmed even when our design flash is programmed. As long as there is not a device reset that causes the flash to revert to defaults, I am able to read out using the EV2300 interface our programmed flash values. Maybe we have missed something, but I am seeing a similar behaviour with an evaluation module for the 28550-R1.
