bqEVSW download

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27425EVM-G2A, BQ27425-G1

I've got a BQ27425EVM-G2A evaluation module.  bqEVSM software is referred to in the manual, but I don't see it on the product page:

http://www.ti.com/product/bq27425-g1

or on the EVM product page:

http://www.ti.com/tool/bq27425evm-g2a

Please let me know where to find this software.

  • Hello Steve,

You can find the evaluation software for the bq27425-G2x at the link below:

Also, we are in the process of pushing out new and improved tools to replace EVSW.  Our new tool is called GaugeStudio.  You can also download GaugeStudio for the bq27425-G2x at the link below:

    I hope this helps.

  • I've used GaugeStudio for a couple of days, and it seems mostly to work well.  I am having one problem that is really frustrating.  Here is a description:

    1) I can use the DataLog feature and it seems to work fine.  I can configure the registers I want to log, start and stop logging, then save to a CSV file.

    2) When I want to run a complete battery discharge, though, I have a problem.  GaugeStudio seems to be logging the data throughout the discharge.  The battery ends up fully discharged, and the EVM stops communicating.  GaugeStudio continues to try to log data, and turns the lines in the DataLog window red.  So far so good.  However, when I ask GaugeStudio to save the data to a file, the resulting file has no data in it.

My question is, how can I run a complete battery discharge cycle and log it with GaugeStudio?  As a note, requiring operator intervention before the battery is fully discharged is a non-starter, as it may take 10 or more hours to discharge the battery.
