UCD9081 actions on rail down need documentation.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9081

Tech Support this is a copy of an email I sent last week to your support who took two days to tell me to post it on the forum, so a prompt reply here would be appreciated.    This input data is not only not letting me paste in pictures, it is also cropping them, so you'll have to open the documents to view the tables I am posting here, or I can just email you the email I originally sent to tech support (or you could fix this site).

This is from page 20, Section 4.2.3 of the SLVA275B Rev. Nov 2010 (Most recent on website)

This if from Page 11 of the datasheet for the UCD9081, SLVS813B Ver. Dec 2010 (Most Recent on website)

Here are the same options in the GUI:

I am looking for some documentation on settings for the options that are still listed as reserved (eg retry continuously, sequence after shutdown) I could obviously figure this out through the GUI without a lot of effort, but to keep my documentation clear and concise, I would rather point to a TI provided document.

  • Hi Eugene

Sorry for whatever caused a delay to help you. Apart from the datasheet and the Programming Guide we have an advanced Sequencing and Monitoring document where you could find more information. I have attached it. But whatever settings are configurable through the GUI are accesible to the user and are not reserved bits like the Sequence after shutdown can be accessed in the sequence event link register. 5047.Advanced Sequencing and Monitoring using the UCD9081.pdf We can look into more detail if you have any particular configuration in question.

    Thanks, Spandana

  • Spandana-

Thanks for the quick reply.  The problem with the 5047 document is that it does not provide a map what file locations are effected by what settings, so as I document my use, for the file locations 0xE098-0xE0AE, I have no documentation on what to set SEQPARAM to to enable features advertised in the datasheet such as retry 3 times, retry continuously, etc.  Now I can figure out this, by changing the file in the gui and checking the changes to the hex file, so if I want to map retry continuously, I know that that means that I should set SEQPARAM to 111, but I have no documentation from TI that says, this, which makes it difficult to document my design.  The other three options are retry 2, 3, and 4 times, and those are set by setting SEQPARAM to 010, 011, and 100, respectively, but again, I have no documentation that says this.  I'm just looking to have someone fill out the table in sla275b 4.2.3 with the actual settings, rather than listing 'reserved' for features which have been listed in the datasheet since 2010.  This shouldn't be that hard to get done.
