bq77910A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ77910A

Hello,

I am working on my project i.e BMS circuit for higher 200Ah battery, for that I am using bq77910A . In that I found the the lower voltage threshold for single cell is around max. 2.9V. I am interested to set the threshold to be around 3.3 V max. as required for my application. So kindly suggest me some method i.e if any hardware changes required or some software method to dodge the IC about cell votage.

Regards,

  • Unfortunately the maximum UV threshold for the bq77910A is 2.9V.  The UV range is fixed in the design of the IC and can not be changed with software. Scaling multiple voltages external to the IC does not seem practical.

If another BMS IC solution such as a gauge, or AFE or protector with micro is not suitable, you might supplement the '910A with a micro or comparator circuit which reads pack voltage and triggers on that if this is suitable.  This would trigger some switch.  Since the '910A does not have an external FET control input if using the FETs controlled by the 910A this would have to simulate some other fault like a temperature fault.  The circuit would have to be careful not to create a permanent latch.
