BQ25505 and BQ25570

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25570, BQ25505, BQ25504, TPS62736

Hello,

do anyone have Details about the BQ25505 and BQ25570?

  • These are scheduled to release end of April.  Preview datasheets are available on the web.  Boost operation is very similar to bq25504.  Buck operation of the bq25570 is similar to TPS62736 which releases in the next two weeks.

    What is your application?

  • I use an TEG and the BQ25504 for an batteryless 2,5GHz sensor. It works fine, but whenn the battery at vbat is empty i must first charge the battery to have enough voltage to send data!? The BQ25504 charge the battery only to the programmed outputvoltage.

  • Correct.  Except for the cold start circuit, the IC operates normally after the VSTOR voltage is above 1.8V.  So, if you are not using a battery, I suggest a large super capacitor that can hold up the voltage and/or a FET that isolates the load from VSTOR until VSTOR reaches your desired output voltage.
