Hi,

A customer is inquirying about interfacing the EV2300 via I2C. However, he gets the error saying "Failed read data error code 772"

He has tried interfacing his own board which uses BQ34Z100 and he doesn't have any problems but when using EV2300 receives the error.

The only jumper, J7, is open as well. Does this mean the EVM is defected?

Please help.

Error code 772 is a NACK. The EV2300 does not have pullups on I2C port and that could be the cause of NACK. The EV2300 appears to be working correctly .

Thank you so much for your response.

Here is the answer from the customer:

"I have 10Kohm pull up resistors installed from SDA and SCL to Vout. That should work think."

Connect to VCC instead of VOUT.

VCC is always at 3.3V, VOUT is software controlled and is normally at 0V
