I want to make a battery charger for 7 Ah 24Vdc lead-acid batteries. Input of the battery charger will be around 24V (23-25 Vdc) and the maximum output current of battery charger may be between 1-3A. I checked UC3909 but I couldn't understand if it is suitable for us. Could you please help me to find suitable product for me? I would prefer switching chargers but it should be easy to implement. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would look at the bq2031 charger. Use it in the pulsed current mode.

As I know bq2031 has linear topology. Will it be able to boost the voltage up to 29V from 24 V for charging the battery? What is difference with UC3909?

It is a buck switcher charger (all of our chargers just buck).

But BQ2031 has VCC limit of 5V,how can we use it for 24V battery ?

Refer to the DV2031 UG.

The input voltage is regulated down to 5V to run the IC and there are external components that allow the 5V control to drive the 24V power stage.
