Use LM5066 LM5064 to measure current?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5066, LM5064

Hi,

I've seen it is said in datasheets of LM5066 and LM5064 that these parts feature (1). Real time monitoring of Vin, Vout, Iin, Pin Vaux with 12-bit resolution and 1kHz sampling rate (2). True input power averages dynamic power readings. I wonder can I read real time Iin from PMbus? I want to find a solution to measure the real time input current of my product. If LM5066 and 5064 can, how to get the current data?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Yes the current, voltage and power telemetry data can be accessed from a PMBus communication bus on internal registers in the LM5066 or LM5064.  If you are only interested in telemetry, and not hot-swap capability, then you can use the LM5056 to get telemetery information across PMBus without the hot swap features.

Let me know if this answers your question.

    Regards,

    Mike
