BQ27510-G2 Bqeasy battery settings

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510

Hello I am very new the the bq27510 fual gauge and having a hard time finding the right info to write into the bqeasy battery info page.

Basically my questions are:

  1. On my datasheet for my battery it states that the nominal voltage is 3.7V (Average Voltage at 0.2C discharge) and on the same datasheet it also states that the cell voltage can be between 3.7 and 3.9V. Now after charging the battery the voltage sits at around 3.9-4 volts. Should I change the nominal voltage to 3.9V from 3,7V in bqeasy.
  2. What would be the best setting for the discharge cut-off voltage in bqeasy, the battery datasheet states that it is at 2.75V should i set it to 2.95V to be on the safe side when running the battery chemistry test.

These are probably very easy questions to answer so I hope someone can help me in record breaking time ;).

  • Hi,

if you used a Li-Ion Polymer battery, the nominal is probably 3.7V ; I think you just need to use the value in the line "nominal voltage" on the datasheet. And after a full charge the battery voltage is close to 4.2V.

for the chemistry test, I think it's better to use the datasheet value. And in my case, I consider that the battery will be dead after the test. And for the chemistry test, remenber to disconnect the protection chip on the battery pack.
