Hi all!
How it work(circled part of scheme) ?
What part-numbers are recommended(diodе/transistor/their characteristics)?

Inge

Hello Inge,
The Zenner diode is attached in order to avoid that the LED anode voltage goes GND level. LED is sensitive to reverse voltage bias. The reverse voltage can be reduce by the zener diode. Big current zener diode is not required. But the diode maximum current should be more than VLED/resistor value. Zener voltage should be less than LED forward voltage.
