powering a USB device

Hi,

We need a 3.3V to 5V, 500mA charge pump IC/boost to use with the SMSC USB3320 USB Transceiver. It must be compatible with a 3.3V logic enable and be as simple as possible. It will power a slave USB device up to 500mA through a USBA connector. Do you have any recommendations that you can offer?

We don't have any step up .5 A charge pumps. I would go with a TPS61170. Webench can be used to design the circuit.

I agree with Jeff that 500 mA is too high for a charge pump to be feasible, so you'll need to use a boost. The power quick search can help you find suitable devices, but the TPS61256 is the simplest/smallest we have.
