Substitution for the TL4242 ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL4242

We have been producing motorcycle RCL for a few years now using the TL4242 linear current regulator. It preforms very well..

Do you have similar linear current regulators with multiple outputs? 3,4 outputs? We use 8..15 pcs. of 0.1..0.2W LEDS. Browsing trough your LED driver I haven't found anything similar but maybe I missed it..  Or can you suggest a substitution which has multiple output channels? Preferably linear regulator.

Thank you

  • Hello,

We do not have a multi-channel version of the TL4242.  We do have many devices with multiple channels that require serial input to control the on / off state.  Can you tell me more about your application?  What is the input voltage and required current?  Any PWM type requirements?

    Regards,

    Dick

  • Hello,

The input voltage range is 9V to 18V (24V max for several seconds). The LED current varies between  20mA to 100mA. The lights have two modes of function position and stop lamp usually we do not use PWM instead switching the current sense resistor (we did use PWM in a few projects as well, one disadvantage is it introduces some EMI issues some of the cases..)
