TI Solar Micro-Inverter Solution

I am interested in the Solar Micro-inverter solution listed here:

But when I click "Order Sample Kit" all it does it put three items in my samples cart:

TMS320F2808 – 32-Bit Digital Signal Controller with Flash
AFE031 - Powerline Communications Analog Front End
SM72295 - Renewable Energy Grade Photovoltaic Full Bridge Driver

Presumably, one needs more than just these three components to build a micro-inverter; the webpage leads me to believe that TI most likely has a functional design that could be implemented, and we would be very interested in doing so, as it would save us a very great deal of development effort.

Please let us know who we should get in touch with about the TI Solar Micro-inverter.

    Hello Orlando,

    The kit only provides some of the components for developing your own solar inverter.  I would say due to the endless possibilities in terms of power design, limiting this kit to the fundamental elements, MCU,  MOSFET driver and feedback, allows the designer greater flexibility.

    If you are not into the engineering of your own system, there are other Solar Solutions available such as the Solar Magic chips.  Even with those, you will still have to choose the power components to meet your requirements.

    Take a look at the Alternative Energy page, they offer many more options than what you can get from a free kit.

    Understood, thank you for your input. I don't mind developing my own system, but I had got the impression that there might be an established micro-inverter design that would reduce the development effort.
