TPS40210 CVCC circuit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210

Hi

Do you have TPS40210 CV/CC(vertical drooping) reference design?

It use for multi cell LI-Ion charging.

IN=12V, OUT=53V(min. 25V), IOUT=1.5A

Regards,

PAN-M

  • There are 110 reference designs on the product page.

  • Thank you for response John

    I've checked the reference design, these design did not fit.

    PMP5585 is similar to shape I want, but no output looking and no vertical drooping.

    If you can support this application, please send me schematic.

  • In general you would want an average current mode control device with pulse by pulse current limit to implement vertical drop.  The Device will supply constant Vout at varying loads up to the current limit point. At lower load resistances, the output current would remain at the current limit and the output voltage would drop.  TPS40210 uses hiccup mode current limit, so when the over-current condition is reached, the device will shut down and restart.  You could possible design an external current limiting function to implement vertical drop, but I do not have any reference design for it.
