Lithium ion rechargeable battery for CC2540 BLE chip.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24100

Are there any suggestions for what rechargeable batteries to use with the BLE chip CC2540? Size is a really big concern in our case, we want to find the smallest rechargeable battery that works well with the keyfob in the cc2540 mini DK. Found this small size lithium ion battery, the max discharge current is 120mA which is more than the peak current of the CC2540, but capacity is only 15mAh, way less than a coin cell. As a prototype, we are ok if it could last for a few days of typical usage, but not sure if the capacity of this battery is enough.

We planning to charge the battery with the wireless power receiver Bq51013EVM-725, any suggestions on the type of charging circuit or IC to use with the battery? Again size is a really big issue in our project so we need the smallest and simplest solution possible.

Thanks!

  • Hi Zhang,

We are facing some issue with rechargeable battery. The devices are not able to establish communication.

We are using BQ24100 as charger, TPS62233, and Li-Poly battery with 300mAh battery.

We are able to establish communication with non rechargeable AA, and CR2032 batteries, but facing problem to establish communication with rechargeable LI-Poly / Li-Ion batteries.

Your feedback will be highly appreciable.
