Thought of using the TPS3808G125 as a single power on reset for a 3.3V circuit

hello there ,

i need to apply a single (one-shot) POR circuit at the power up of the card - however the costumer does not want the main voltage (3.3) to be monitored since he does'nt want any "active" reset in his card.

can i supply the TPS3808G125 with 3.3V (and i know it will reset when the voltage goes above or drops below the aprox. 1.16V).

will thank for any ideas

Hi Dan,

I see no issues with this application. Be mindful the RESET will go HIGH at a lower voltage ~1.16V at which case there is not a nominal supply voltage on the rail. You can use the Ct timing pin to create a long enough delay such that RESET will go HIGH when the rail is 3.3V.

so there is no problem to power it with the 3.3 supply while "sensing" the same supply with lower voltages?

Hi Dan,

Yes you can. Please see page 1 of the datasheet. 3.3V powers the device while it's sensing a 1.2V rail.
