TPS40077 Inductor buzz noise

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40077

hi,

As I use the tps40077 in my system, it's for the dc-dc 24v-15v. As I test this circuit in the constant load(4A), it works fine, but my real load is the 1khz pwm output, Irms=1.5A.
As the pwm output stage, there will be inductor buzz noise, and the 1khz frequency is in the range of our ear. it looks like the response speed of the tps40077 is not so fast.
Is there any one have this kind exprience to reduce the  inductor buzz noise?  Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Jie,

If you have a dynamic load, which switches at 1kHz, it sounds to me that you will have the inductor or cap buzz noise. I think even if TPS40077 responds fast enough, the noise will be still there. You may consider to identify where the noise coming from and change that component.

    Regards,

    Na

  • Hi, Na:

Thank you for your reply. The noise if from the inductor, I also tried several kinds inductors(vishay IHLP series, ultra low buzz noise), but almost all the same.  It will be difficult to select the suitable inductor. Thanks!
