If the TPS51200 PGOOD Signal isn't Needed

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51200

The TPS51200 datasheet implies that the 100k ohm pullup to the supply voltage is always required, whether or not the PGOOD signal is actually used.  Is that true?  Alternatively, if I don't need the PGOOD signal, can I omit the 100k ohm pullup?

Thanks,

Chris

  • Hi chris!

you have to interpret the information different way, if you like to use PGOOD signal e.g. to start load only if PGOOD is high then you need a pullup.

This is only possible if you have a pullup externally. The message is only to tell you there is no internal pullup.

If you do not like to use this signal you can let it open.

remark: This is an output therefore there is no risk of switching on due to collection of charges from outside.
