Battery capacity measurement using bq2050

Hello,

I am using bq2050 to monitor a Li-Ion battery with 11.1V & 3200mAh capacity.

As LMD is the true & measured battery capacity; shall I use the NACH & NACL data or (100*NAC data)/LMD data to show the battery remaining capacity?

And I am using the default values of EDV1 & EDVF. After 1 year of battery usage; the battery voltage is coming down to EDV1. Before the battery voltage comes to EDV1, the battery is getting disconnected (by battery protection circuit). Hence there is no valid discharge occuring and LMD is not getting updated.

So how to detect that the battery life is expired or battery is not usable after a period of time?

I appreciate the quick answers.
