I need to be able to seemlessly switch between 2 power supplies, external power and battery power. The voltage is 12 Volts on each rail and will supply up to 1A to the system.
The default operation is to power from external power when plugged in and will switch over to battery power when external power is removed. When external power is plugged back in the power will need to be switched back over to external power.
I don't see any single chip power mux's that can handle dual 12V supplies and the current of 1A. I am thinking there is likely a supervisor that can control some external mosfets?
What parts/topology might you suggest for this application?
