The BQ25015

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25015

Dear Sirs,

I would like to use the BQ25015 to both charge a Li-ion battery and to also supply power using its DC/DC converter to my circuit.

I will be charging it by connecting voltage to the AC input of this IC. The USB input will be N/C

I read on the device data sheet (Table 1) that when both AC and USB inputs are absent, the DC/DC converter will shut down.

I see on some applications notes that pins 16,17 of this IC are tied together to Vbat. Does this mean that when both the AC and USB inputs are absent, the

DC/DC will still run, taking its power from the BAT? If that is the case that's great but i must tell you that the data sheet is very not clear on this. I think another line

should be added to Table 1 stating that the DC/DC will keep running if power is applied to pin 17 of the IC.

Please advise and thank you!

Nir.
