Design of Power Switch between Main Power and Battery

Hi ,

I am designing  one product with battery back up .The Li-Po battery charger (2 Cell ) Bq24103RHLR controlls the battery charging .

Once main power connects , then product (board) must powered and battery  should also charge . When main power disconnects , then board should drive from battery without any power fail .

The i/p power =12V , Bat voltage = 8.4V , Board current consumption =1A

I tried with simple P-MOSFET but  100ms delay exits between switching  so that board gets restarted .

Let me know any power switch /circuit for my requirment .
