Bq2002 controlling a constant-current supply for charging 2 series cells NIMH

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2002F

Hi Everyone,

I'm using the BQ2002F to charge a 2 series cells of NIMH battery. My Nimh Cell has 70 mAh as Nominal Capacity, and its manufacturer recommend to fast charging it using 35 mA  for 3h (for fully discharged ones). So I want to charge it with the bq2002F by putting TM pin at Mid (0.5*Vcc = 0.5*5V=2.5V ) , thereby the corresponding fast-charge Rate will be C/2 (in my case it equal to 70/2=35mA) and the Termination method will be PVD  and it will take around 2h 20 min (based on the data-sheet).

My question is : Can that charger fully charge my battery  just in 2 hours 20 min with a current of 35 mA although the manufacturer advocates to load at 35mA for 3h ??

Thank you
