TPS71530 Input Current

How do I determine what the input current to a TPS71530 linear regulator will be? Is it close to the same as the output current?

Hi Wade,

Thanks for your post. The total input current for an LDO is the output current + Ground current or Iq. TPS71530 has a typical Ground Current of 3.8uA, this can be confirmed by measuring with an ammeter in series with the input with no load at the output. Once a load is applied at the output, total input current will be this load current plus the previously measured GND current with no load.Hope this helps.
