Hi there,
I've picked up the SLVA473 PDF for modifying the BQ24650 for dealing with disabling/lowering the precharge mode and adjusting the output regulation point.
I'm not seeing the kind of behavior I'd expect though.
What I have so far is:
Vref (3.3v) divides through a 4K7-> 10K resistor to give me about 2.25V (and it does) through a 1N914 that feeds to VFB. That should shut off the precharge mode.
From there, I changed the top Rdiv for Vfb from 499K to 30K and this should give me 2.73V into 2.1V for Vfb.
Right now, the Vfb is hovering around 1.625VDC and the charging circuitry is alive, but low PWM.
I can see the bootstrapper running (low duty) and the Highside driver running, but the low-side looks like it's doing nothing (no gate drive) and the output is only about 625mV.
(My input is a Tek bench supply -- it's only good for 2A and is set for 21VDC)
Did I miss something else or do this wrong?
Thanks,
-Ben
