bq51013b losing Connection

Dear all,

i' ve made an prototype with the bq51013b with iPhone 4 connector.

Now i'm testing the System with a Qi Transmitter. Every 5 minutes the Receiver are losing the Signal and the iphone 4 is beeping and reconnecting.

I have also a Qi iPhone 4 Sleeve (from Oregon) here with the bq51013b same Problem.

Whats wrong?

it this happening at all times or only at certain battery charge levels.let's say 95%?

Hi,

at all times. Any charge levels. i have also tried with micro usb connector an a andorid phone same problem.

it looks like the issue is comunication drops. please make sure the resonant caps are tuned properly. also you can increase the comm caps.

Similar doubts i too have on tuning the capacitors.

Vikram,

Tuning the resonant capacitors (in this case, C1, C2 and C3) is based on the inductance of the coil being used. Please review the section "Series and Parallel Resonant Capacitor Selection" in the bq51013B datasheet.

The COMM capacitors are C8 and C13. Increasing the values of these capacitors will have an impact on the amplitude of the communication being sent from the Rx to the Tx.
