UCC27324 1 and 8 pin connection.

Hi,

In  UCC27324 D/S P5 Pin description, Pin1 and 8 must connect to GND

General understanding, the N/C(No Connection) pin means there is no electrical connection between N/C pin and internal circuit.

So , in the case of UCC27324,  there are some electrical connection between UCC27324 1 and 8pin and internal circuit?

Thanks,

  • Hello,

Pin 1 and 8 of UCC27324 is not connected to internal silicon.

In general it is a good practice to connect these pins to GND, but it is acceptable to also leave these pins in floating condition.

If pins #1,8 are connected to ground, then the IC footprint will not be able to accept other product options such as UCC27524 or UCC27424, where pins 1 & are ENABLE pins.

  • Hi, Ramanan

    Thanks for your reply.

If we leave the Pin 1 and 8 in floating condition,  Will it be a possible cause of lower noise tolerance?

because UCC27324 D/S P5 Pin description said that we MUST connected the Pin1 and 8 to GND...

    Thanks
