Powering TMS320F2811 core from TLV70719p

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2811

According to the TMS320F2811 datasheet, on the 96th page, the maximum input current at 150MHz iz 220mA. I would like to power the MCU core by using TLV70719p.

According to the datasheet on the 3rd page the output current limit is min 240mA typ:300mA max:450mA.

But also in the datasheet in the title is written only 200mA. Will this LDO supply enough current to power up the MCU?

  • Hello,

The LDO should be able to supply 220mA however with such a high load PSRR and transients may degrade. Also long term relaibility of the part cannot be guaranteed if we drive it harder than what it is designed for. It is recommended to use a higher output current LDO.
