TPS5450 Quiescent Current

I'm using a TPS5450 regulated in 5V (Vsense aprox 1,21V). In my tests the quiescent current with no load connected but with Vout ON and Vin=12V the consume is 0,2W. (17mA quiescent current). Looking in the datasheet there is no information about quiescent current while switching. Is there any way to calculate this value to check if I'm capturing the correct value.

Is there any guide for reducing the quiescent current? This value is critical for my project!

Something in the 10's of mV sounds about right, so 17 mV should be very close to what I would expect. They specifiy the quiescent current as non-switching, because that is the quiescent current of the IC. When switching you are drawing RMS conduction losses as well as switching losses in the switching FET. If no load power consumption is an issue, you may want to look at a part with eco-mode operation.

For a part with light load efficiency, I suggest you look at the TPS54540 or TPS54531.
