TPS61500 / Start up sequence with EN:Low

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61500
Hello,

TPS61500 will be operated at the moment even if EN is asserted Low when start up sequence.
Please see the attached file as sequence.

In the datasheet Page5, there is below description.
"When the voltage of this pin falls below the enable threshold for more than 10ms, the IC turns off."
I think that TPS61500 is operated at the moment(about 10ms) even if EN is asserted Low due to this.
Is my understanding correct ?

  • Hi Ryuji Asaka,

Firstly, The TPS61500 enters shutdown when the EN voltage is less than 0.4-V for more than 10-ms.It means that the IC will continue to switch until the EN voltage is holding low for more than 10ms.

Secondly, may I confirm with you that the time base in your waveform is 5s/div, not 5ms/div.

  • Hello Ming san,

    Thank you for the information.
I understood that the IC will continue to switch until the EN voltage is holding low for more than 10ms.

    the 5s/div is correct.
If you contact to me directrly,  I can send original file from my customer.

  • Hi Asaka,

OK, so it seems like the EN has been low for a long time. Could you pls show me the waveform of SW pin so we both can see whether the IC has shut down or not.

  • Hello Ming san,

My customer can't take the waveform due to they don't have the board ( end user have the board)
But, I explain EN low time and UVLO threshold voltage to my customer and they understood this phenomenon.
    Thank you for your helping.
