bq27425-G2 / incorrect measured AvgCurrent

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27425-G2A

Hi everyone,

Now our customer is evaluating bq27425-G2 in their prototype board. They hope to learn the parameter of their cell, so they perform learning cycle by setting f FC Set% = -1 at EVM. After that they exported gg file by using GaugeStudio and they imported it to their prototype board by using GaugeStudio. They checked the operation and then they comfirmed incorrect charge current.
I attached the gg file and the log file which is taken from their prototype board. They charged by 100mA but the measured AvgCurrent was 42mA in log file.

Can you estimate the cause of this problem?
Please let me know more data or their test condition if you need.

  • Hello Sonoki,

Unfortunately GaugeStudio will allow you to complete current calibration of the '425.  You should not need to calibrate teh '425 device.  If you do calibrate we only recommend board offset calibration and/or voltage offset.  Did you try to calibrate the '425 before your testing?

  • Hi Casey-san,

    Thank you for your response.

I'll check if they did calibrate before testing.

Anyway bq27425-G2A can export and import the gg file by both GaugeStudio and EVSW, then which software do you recommend to use for beginners of TI's fuel gauge?

    Best Regards,

    Sonoki
