BQ24210 TPS73733 solar charger

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24210, BQ24650, BQ24250

Hi,

Does BQ24210 suitable to takes energy from solar panel (9V-11V, 660mA(max)) that charge Li-Ion battery (3.7V, 4400mAh) which supply to portable device (3.3v, 500mA)?

Do I need to use LDO linear regulator to lower the voltage from BQ24210 to 3.3V required for the portable device?

Does TPS73733 LDO voltage regulator (3.3V, Iout = 1A(max)) suitable for my application which needs current of 0,5A?

Thank you!

  • I suggest either bq24250 configured to charge from a solar cell or bq24650.  bq24210 would operate but would be thermally limited due to your high input voltages.

If you use the bq24250 with separate SYS rail you can connect your linear regulator off of the SYS rail.

    TPS73733 is a good regulator.
