bq20z45-R1 supply current in sleep mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z45-R1

In datasheet, supply current of sleep mode is 52uA(typ) in CFET and DFET off condition.

The bq20z45-R1 performs measurements, calculations, protection decisions and data update in adjustable time intervals.

In this timing, supply current gets higher. About 200uA.

How do I think the supply current at this time?

At this time, does the bq20z45-R1 return to normal mode from sleep mode?

Is the sleep mode supply current value of datasheet  the value between measurement interval?

  • Hi Kohei,

Due to the measurements and calculations which the firmwwre carries out during sleep mode, you see the increased current consumption. During sleep, voltage current and temperature is measured at intervals. This doesn't mean that the device has exited sleep mode. This 200uA, is this a value which you actually measured? The Sleep mode supply current value in the data sheet is the value between the measurement interval.

    thanks

  • Onyx-san,

I observed the supply current with the following method.

I have inserted the 1k resistor into Vcc line. And I observed the voltage difference at that point.

The peak voltage was 200mV. So I thought it is 200uA.

Is the average value of sleep mode supply current higher than datasheet typ value?

Or does average value become about datasheet typ value because measurement period in sleep mode is short?
