BQ27410 Data Error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27410-G1

Hi,

I'm testing bq27410-G1 on my board.

I'm monitoring gauging data using bq Evaluation Software.

Bq27410 is connected with fully charged battery. (max voltage is 4.2V)

Design capacity is 280mAh but I set 210mAh for my application.

Reading data is wrong data. Below captured figure is shown error data.

Bq27410 can't sense voltage and current and calculate SOC, SOH, Power and etc frequently.

And when I write .gg file to data flash, CC offset and CC delta are not changed to new value.

CC offset and CC delta are written unknown value arbitrarily.

What do I do check for this problem?

  • Hello Remony,

Can you please provide a schematic of your setup?  Also, do you have any other devices connected to the I2C bus the gauge is on?  Do you have multiple boards with this failure or only a single instance?  Also, are you able to sniff the I2C bus while trying to communicate with the gauge?  Having the data on the I2C traffic will be beneficial in debugging what might be happening here.

  • Hi,

Had the exact same problem, remenber to do a battery insertion command or pull BAT_DET low!

    Kind regards,

    Søren
