Question about REGIN and REG25 of BQ27410

Dear TIer,

I have one question about BQ27410.

One of my customer is using BQ27410 as below. She is not using the integrated LDO, and using external LDO for power supply to BQ27410. Both REGIN and REG25 are opened (No connection)

Is there any problem? Is there any connection with REG25 internally?

Please confirm it.

Thanks and Regards.

  • Hello Ho Cheol Song1,

If you were wanting to use some of the internal pull-ups you would want to make sure that the internal regulator is powered.  However, it looks that you should be all right with the setup shown.  I cannot tell for sure, but the LDO powering the gauge has an output of 2.5 V, correct?  The gauges does need to be powerd   Is there a reason the customer does not want to use the gauges integrated LDO?

  • Hello Jared,

    Thank you for your response.

The output of external LDO is 2.5V as you know. Customer wants to reduce the leakage current at sleep mode of her own device. So the external LDO will be used to turn off BQ27410 at sleep mode. Customer has already known HIBERNATE mode. But she would like to eliminate even 4uA of HIBERNATE. Do you have any idea for me?

Customer's application is Blood Glucose Meter. So the leakage current is one of the most important thing.

    Thanks.
