TPS54326 Feed forward cap on divider?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54326

The TPS54326 EVM User's Guide recommends a feed forward cap on the feed back voltage divider for "higher output volatge" but does not specify how to calculate this capacitance value.  More important is the fact that there is no mention of this feed forward capacitor requirement in the data sheet.

Can you provide guidelines or equations for sizing the feed forward capacitor value?

Thanks!

  • The values in the table cover the range of possible output voltages.  These values are provided by teh TPS54326 designers.  So far as I know they are based on actual circuit evaluation.  The reason it is required is due the skip mode operation.  there is not currently any equation to calculate this.  We are working on the loop characteristics now, to see if it can be easily quantified.  For teh short term you will just have to rely on the values in the table.  I agree it should probably be in the datasheet as well.  I'll see what I can do.
