The LM3532 is designed with an integrated 40V boost converter. I want to use this with a single RGB led and do not need the boosted voltage. Will this device operate correctly/safely if I remove the inductor and diode and just tie IN and OVP to 5V?

Hi,
Can you tell me more of your application? The RGB LED current and Vf you are going to drive and do you need external PWM and ALS?
Just to check if there are other options/products that might suit your application.
Anyway I will forward this question to the LM3532 team.
Thank you,
Sami
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, but I got the feedback and the answer is:
Yes. There are bits to disable the feedback from current sink input to the the boost. You can disable these or you can just leave SW floating.
Thank you,
Sami
