bq24650 MPPT Charge Current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24650

I have a Q on the mppt Charge Current for the bq24650.

my Vin regulation is set to 17.8V so my input is always regulated to this voltage. my panel has a 21++V open voltage, 1.12A max, if I am not mistaken. Panel MPP at 18V

I am charging a battery, with Vbat regulated to 14.43V. The current settings is at 2A (same components as the EVM)

ps. most of my design is similar to the EVM. (also tried on the EVM, no difference)

so my problem is, I do not see the mppt function on the output charge current :  I do not see the conversion of the power to higher charging current even before the Vin drop below the 17.8V set.

Acharge almost = Ain, Is this normal or is my understanding of the MPPT wrong ?

From datasheet and the forum, I get the point of when the Vin drops below the Regulated V, the charge current is reduce inorder to maintain the MPP of the panel.

but what about the charge current ? should I expect it to drive up the current by 30% or 20% or ?% or should it be the same.
