I would likte to confirm the operation of UCC2720x.

The customer have broken UCC27201 in the current measurement at HB to the bypass capacitor.

They added harness between HB pin to the bypass capacitor. in this case, UCC27201 was broken.

(In the case without harness, there is no problem.)

The harness is 0.15mm2 and 15mm. VDD and the voltage supply for outside FET's is 13.5V.

I have questions for it.

1. Do you presume what the cause of the wreck was?

2. If there is not the bypass capacitor (HB to HS is open), how do UCC27201 operate?

 (The current (VDD, HB to HS, VDD to HS,  and so on)  increase or the abnormal current flow and so on.)

    I do not understand what is the meaning of "They added harness between HB pin to the bypass capacitor".

    Can you give more explanation on that?

    The bypass will provide the power to High side related circuits. If there is no bypass capacitor, at least HO will not output.
