UCC28600 RUN LOGIC ISSUE

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28600, BQ24600

DEAR SIR/MADAM,

I am using the IC UCC28600 for 65-W charging application.I used the same circuit as per the EVM doc sluu263c. http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluu263c/sluu263c.pdf

While testing the board, i observed the value like (VDD= VARYING B/W 8V TO 12.6V DC,Vovp=2.9V, Vfb= approx 0V).In the control circuit flow diagram it is mentioned that RUN will be logic LOW if  VREF<4V.

**decoupling cap & other critical component placed as per EVM guidance**

Q1:What could be the possible reason that VDD is not reaching >13V?

Q2:I used the same component for the Rovp1,Rovp2,Rpl & Rcs,transformer ( as per the EVM ) as my Voltage requirement is also same , so is there any other component which can effect the performance??

Q3:VREF is almost 0 volt ,VDD is varying bw 9V to 12.5V DC.....What could be the reason??

Please provide your valuable suggestion..

Thanks in advance..

  • I got the solution....I am getting vout 18 V.......Soft start is also happening.....Still one issue...

After the ucc28600 adapter portion i used the IC BQ24600 to charge the battery(type Li-ion) with 16.8V in same PCB.

It is charging the Battery with 16.8v@3A(as per Iset) but transformer making the sound (like air is leaking from tube).

When i am checking the adapter portion(ucc28600) only with resistive load(rheostat) there is no sound (16.8V@3amps).If i am checking the BQ24600 portion(powered from other power supply)only, it is charging the battery with16.8V@3amps without sound. When i am using the both circuit (belongs to ICucc28600 & BQ24600 ) then only sound is coming.

what could be the cause of this issue???

If ripple then how we can reduce the same.....??

    plz help

    thanks in advance
