TPS5430 ENABLE

Would like to operate the TPS5430 by an MCU command only. Meaning at  normal operation the TPS will not work until he will get the signal from the MCU.

Is the right way to do it is by adding pull down resistor to the ENABLE  pin?

If positive what should be its value.

If not any other recommendation?

  • Based on the 5µA pull up current shown in the block diagram, the resistance should be at most 0.5V/5µA = 100kΩ. The actual 5µA current value is not characterized so I would use a much smaller resistance to ensure it can pull the ENA pin below 0.5V.

Is it possible to use an open drain or open collector output to interface with the pin as suggested in the datasheet? This could be more controlled than using the pull down resistor.
