Does the BQ24450 charger support charging a 12V battery? The datasheet does not say anything at all about how many cells it supports. The design example in the datasheet shows 3 cells (6V battery). The TI website product page for this device says it supports 2-4 cells (4V - 8V). However, I believe I remember using this exact part many years ago at another company to charge a 12V battery. Also, there are many postings on this forum mentioning its use for 12V batteries. Can someone from TI please confirm that it will work with a 12V battery?
I do not need any design assistance, I know how to calculate all the resistors to set the thresholds. I just need a confirmation that it supports 12V batteries.
