Increase current limit on the BQ34Z100EVM

Hi,

I'm trying to use the BQ34Z100EVM to monitor a 48V Lead acid battery. The battery is 4x12V Lead Acid batteries connected in series.

The load will be drawing a current of 5A-25A with a peak of around 35A.

I am aware that the datasheet states that the board doesn't support currents of more than 7A. I would like to increase this limit. On checking the schematic, The current goes through the board only through the current sense resistor.

Is it possible to get a different current sense resistor with a higher power rating and bypass the board. Theoretically that should work right?

What was the reason to point in datasheet for bq34z100EVM max current limit = 7A?
bq34z100 has limit 32A.
Is it only limit for current roads between connectors and Rsense?
I have the same problem with current limit.
What is real limit for EVM without changing of sense rezistor?

The current sense path and terminal block are rated up to about 7A. The EVM can support higher current, if you use an external sense resistor and solder kelvin contact wires from it to the EVM.
