TPS7A3301 TPS7A4700 protection diodes

Hi Support

Do the above parts require protection diodes around them as per 78xx 79xx LM317/337 series? i.e. Vin to Vout reverse, Vout to Gnd for dual rail supply?

Hi JD,

Protection diodes should not be required. In fact if you are using TPS7A3301 and TPS7A4700 for their PSRR, such diodes would actually reduce the PSRR.

Hi Ryan

Thank you for the prompt reply. I'd looked at the ref design but wanted to make sure. These parts look great and I've designed them into my current prototype - testing soon.
