BQ24103A, Datasheet Issue, What is minimum required input bias current for TS pin ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24103A

I am using the BQ24103A lithium ion battery charger IC.    In my design I wish to inactivate the temperature sense circuit functions connected to the TS-pin.    I have connected the TS pin by resistive voltage divider to the VTSB pin.  The two equal value resistors set the TS to VTSB / 2.   My question is:  what is the required minimum input bias current for the TS pin ?     I do not see an input current specification on the datasheet specifically for the TS input.

Thanks .... joe

  • I am having the same issue. It seems that I cannot get the BQ24103A to start charging and believe the issue is with the TS pin. My battery pack has an unknow thermistor and trying to test it without term control. I tried making RT1/RT2 same value with no luck. I believe the circuit is working because without the battery pack, it follows the correct start up / shut down behavior. Can someone give me some insight on how to bypass the TS pin?

    Thanks
  • Hi Don,

You can refer to datasheet section 8.3.2 Temperature Qualification.

You can use two 10kohm resistor as voltage divider which is powered by VTSB. It can disable TS function.
