bq77PL900 programming adapter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ77PL900

Does it need EV2300 board, or can the TI USB-GPIO be used as well?

We do have the USB-GPIO adapter, driver seems to be working, however bq77PL900 demo software does not recognize it.

Also I am having a hard time figuring out what connects where: USB-GPIO and BQ77PL900EVM-001 10-pin connectors seem to have a different pinout.

Do I need to order EV2300 as well?

  • The bq77PL900 evaluation software supports the EV2300 only.

The USB-GPIO adapter comes with a simple I2C tool as I recall, if you wire the appropriate signals to the connector of the EVM you should be able to read & write registers on the 'PL900, but you will not have the formatted register groupings, bit definitions and sequences provided by the bq77PL900 evaluation software.
