BQ24010 without battery

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24010

I am using the following scheme.

the battery pack has protection from overcharge and overdischarge.
in the case of discharge , protection disconnects the battery. If Input voltage(5V)  connect  Vout from BK24010 is 1.3V  That is not enough for what discharge protection connect  the battery.
in the case of a  battery disconnected from the board at Vbat = 1.3V
If I disconnect the R17 - the charging Voltage is normal.

U3 consumption not more than 100 mA. how can I fix this problem?

  • I'm having trouble understanding what the problem is from your description. It seems to me like the BQ24010 is outputting the voltage you expected, which is 1.3V, but that it's not enough to activate discharge protection in your circuit. Is that the problem? Most higher power batteries have integrated protection to disconnect the battery when its voltage drops below 2.5-2.9V. When the battery is disconnected, the output voltage of BQ24010 should go to the battery regulation voltage, which is 4.2V. This will  make the charging voltage back to normal. However, if there is still 100mA current flowing to the battery, the protector will still be turned on when the battery has been charged enough.
